Kearsarge Sunderland (Sunderland, MA)

Kearsarge developed, constructed and financed this 312 kW DC ground mount solar array located adjacent to the Elementary School in Sunderland, MA. Kearsarge was awarded the rights to develop the project through a public procurement process run by the Town of Sunderland. Kearsarge collaborated with the Town, the School Department and the local utility to bring this project to successful completion after a multi-year effort by the Town to host solar, and the project is now a leading example of the Town’s continued commitment to renewable energy. Kearsarge worked closely with the School to leverage the array as an educational tool and to showcase the benefits of solar energy and has established a continuing educational curriculum. All energy generated by the project is being purchased by the Town of Sunderland, and the Town is also receiving tax revenues from the project. The project was completed in December, 2016.
