About the Project:
The 1.5 MW solar site in Franklin, Massachusetts, completed in 2023, features an on-site battery storage system. It is the third project developed on land owned by Mount Saint Mary’s Abbey, marking a long-standing partnership between the Abbey and Kearsarge. Located in National Grid territory, the solar facility generates 100% of its power for low-income off-takers, helping to support community energy access. Kearsarge worked with National Grid through a complex interconnection process to strategically avoid congested grid areas and minimize impacts on local energy infrastructure.
