Grafton Water District (Grafton, MA)

Kearsarge partnered with the Grafton Water District to develop this 1.7 MW DC ground-mounted solar farm.  The Project is situated on approximately 10 acres of land surrounding one of the water district’s pump stations and has been interconnected to existing electrical service that powers the pump station equipment on site.  All energy generated by the system will be purchased by the Water District via a 20 year Net Metered Power Purchase Agreement.  The project has been recognized and supported by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection as a leading example of how solar arrays can be seamlessly integrated with existing water infrastructure facilities, as it is the first project permitted within 400’ of a groundwater well.  Kearsarge developed the project, securing site control, structured contracts, managed the permitting process, and arranged all financing.  Commercial Operations began October 2013.
