Kearsarge Bellingham

Kearsarge Bellingham (Bellingham, MA)

Kearsarge developed, constructed and financed this 4.1 MW DC solar array located at the Town of Bellingham’s closed and capped landfill. Kearsarge worked closely with Bellingham to complete development and construction and maximize benefits for Town. All energy generated by the project is being purchased by the Town of Randolph, saving the Town millions of dollars over the life of the project.  In addition, Bellingham will receive over $3.5 million in lease payments and tax revenues. Kearsarge worked closely with the MA Dept. of Environmental Protection to obtain the Post-Closure Use Permit and to ensure the solar array will not disturb the existing landfill cap, unlocking the value of an otherwise un-developable parcel and creating a mutually beneficial public-private partnership. The project was completed in December, 2016.
